General Information

Each year Solos, Duos, Trios and Small Group routines are requested by company members. The routines are then choreographed, rehearsed and then performed by Company members at the Showcase, dance competitions, June Recitals and community events. These routines are totally optional. They are not mandatory.

The teachers & choreographers of TSDC share concepts and ideas to make the routines better and better each year. Some choreographers team teach to give dancers the best choreography & style for every dance. All dances are choreographed on a first come basis. Full payment must be submitted when the solo/duo/trio/small groupo request is submitted.

• Choreography & rehearsals takes place from August through February.
• Solo/Duo/Trio/Small Group requests can be made July thru January.
• All S/D/T/SG routines are performed in our Spring Dance Company Showcase.
• S/D/T/SG routines can be also entered in competitions and other TSDC performances.

Solo Routines

Once the registration and payment for the Solo is submitted then the process of assigning your choreographer will begin.

• IMPORTANT: Do not, under any circumstance, approach or message any choreographers directly.

• Dancers may request a choreographer(s) during the registration process.

• All choreographer assignments will be made by Miss Tricia.

• Miss Tricia will notify the dancer directly of the choreographer assignment.

• All scheduling of rehearsals must be conducted through the TSDC front desk in person or by phone (856-464-0128).

• DO NOT email or text TSDC or the choreographer concerning scheduling of rehearsals.

Duo, Trio, Small Group

Once the registration and payment are complete then the process of placing dancers together begins.

• To be a part of a duo/trio/small group, dancers DO NOT need to request another dancer. TSDC will pair dancers.

• Dancers who are interested in a Duo/Trio/Small Group will be assigned to another dancer/dancers at the discretion of TSDC.

• TSDC will accept requests of dancers who would like to work together.

• All duo/trio/small group assignments must be approved and will be finalized by Miss Tricia.

Assignment of Choreographer

Once the registration form and payment are submitted then the process of assigning your choreographer will begin.

• IMPORTANT: Do not, under any circumstance, approach or message choreographers directly.

• All communication regarding choreographers must be conducted either at the TSDC front desk or via email at triciasloandance@comcast.net.

• Dancers request a choreographer during the registration process.

• All choreographer assignments will be made by Miss Tricia.

• Choreographers work either individually or as a team, depending on the dance being created.

• All scheduling of rehearsals must be conducted through the TSDC front desk in person or by phone (856-464-0128). DO NOT email or text TSDC concerning scheduling of rehearsals.

Dance Style

• Dancers can select the style of dance they want to perform.

• If a dancer is unsure of the style of dance they would like to perform, then please discuss with Miss Tricia.

Music Selection

• If there is a song the dancer would like to perform to, then enter the music selection at time of registration.

• The assignment of music to a dancer is done on a "First come, First serve" basis.

• Music selections can be suggested by the dancer and/or choreographer.

• If a dancer does not have a song chosen, then the selection will be discussed with your choreographer and Miss Tricia.

Rehearsals of Choreography

Each solo/duo/trio/small group will receive the following:

• 2 hours of private rehearsals with the choreographer(s) to complete all of the choreography.

• 2 30-minute sessions of private coaching in costume with Miss Tricia in order to clean and prepare for performance and/or competition.

• All scheduling of rehearsals must be conducted through the TSDC front desk either in person or by phone
 (856-464-0128).

• DO NOT email or text TSDC or the choreogrpaher(s) concerning the scheduling of rehearsals.

• DANCERS are RESPONSIBLE for REMEMBERING their choreography and most of all for PRACTICING!

• It is highly suggested to video the end of each rehearsal to ensure the dancers can review their choreography and practice their routine on their own time.

Additional Coaching

• Additional private coaching can be provided by purchasing Private Lessons on the TSDC Online Store.

• Purchase Private Lesson

Practicing

• Open studio times for practicing dance routines will be posted on TSDC Instagram weekly.

• There is no charge for open practices.

Performance Oportunities

• Dance Company Showcase:
All solos, duos, trios and small groups perform at the annual Company Showcase. This performance will be in the Spring at the Scottish Rite Theater in Collingswood, NJ.

• Competitions:
TSDC participates in local competitions, as well as National Competitions, such as NDS and The Royal Dance Competition.. Each competition charges an entrance fee to compete. Entrance fees can range from $25-$200 depending on the level of the competition. Competition season runs from October through July.

• Community Events:
TSDC is preparing to share the talents of our performers in our communities at retirement & assisted living centers, parades, charity events, community days, cabarets and other special functions. These will provide more performing opportunities and experiences for everyone.

Requesting a Solo, Duo, Trio, Small Group Routine

Requests for solo,duo, trio or small group can only be made by Dance Company members.

Anyone interested in joining the Dance Company may do so.

Membership is accepted during the enrollment period, July through December.

Pricing

Pricing for Solos, Duos, Trios and Small Groups is as follows:

• Solos: $400

• Duos: $225 per dancer

• Trios: $150 per dancer

• Small Groups: $125 per dancer

Confirmation

After receiving the request and full payment, TSDC will email a confirmation with the assignment of the choreographer and other important information.

Costumes

The following are the options for the dancer's costume:

• Purchase a new costume through TSDC.

• Purchase your own costume.

• Recycle an old costume.

• All costume purchases must be pre-approved by Miss Tricia.
